AROMATHERAPY/REMEDIAL MASSAGE
Aromatherapy is a natural holistic therapy, which uses essential oils to help promote deep relaxation, greater well-being and renewed energy. Essential oils are concentrated plant essences and have a wide range of healing properties.
The combination of massage and a blend of essential oils can enhance the circulation of the blood and lymph and relax tense and tired muscles. Furthermore, it can help eliminate toxins from the body and also help with anxiety, depression, digestive problems, headaches and insomnia. Specific areas of muscle tension can be targeted, particularly effective in treating neck, shoulder and back pain. Additionally, aromatherapy can also aid more chronic and serious conditions such as arthritis, heart disease and cancer. However, it is not a replacement for orthodox medical care, although treatment from a professional aromatherapist can actively support the body’s own healing processes, enhancing the health of both body and mind. People with either sedentary of physically demanding jobs can find it very helpful, as well as those leading busy lives and older people who find exercise more difficult.
An individually tailored programme of treatments will be designed following consultation. Regular treatments can also contribute to preventing reoccurance.

MANUAL LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE (MLD)
MLD is an advanced technique, designed to improve the functioning of the lymphatic system. The lymphatic system contributes to healthy body tissue, carries away waste, returns vital nutrients to the blood stream and plays an important part in the body’s immune system. When it is not working well, these functions are impaired.
MLD is useful as a preventitive measure to combat the stresses of everyday life. It can also be used effectively for a number of conditions, including inflammation following trauma or operation, sinus problems and catarrh. It can promote the healing of burns and wounds and can be used before surgery to aid healing afterwards.
Following a detailed history on the first consultation an individual programme of treatments will be designed. For MLD to be most effective an intense series of 8-10 treatments is reccommended over a period of 3-5 weeks.
Please see fees section of website for individual prices of treatments and contact us to make an appointment. |
